Planning a trip there for 2 weeks. Looks like the itinerary will be :

Land Saturday Japan time @15:30 in Narita Airport . We booked hotel in Shinjuku. Will be staying in Tokyo until Thursday then going to Osaka for 5 days. Then back to Tokyo on the following Tuesday for 4 days and flying back home on Friday thru Haneda airport . We are planning to buy the 14 days JR Pass.

Questions:

-Does the Jr pass get us from Narita to our hotel in Shinjuku? -Can we use JR Pass to go around Tokyo cities (district)? -How do we go to Osaka from Tokyo using JR Pass? -Can we use the JR Pass to make daily travel to Kyoto back and forth? -Can we make a day trip to Mount Fuji with JR Pass? -We know this is a silly question, but can you suggest some must places to visit using JR Pass?

Sorry for all the questions . It’s our first time in Japan. My wife and 2 kids are super excited and I want to make the travel as smooth as possible for us. Thanks in advance and much appreciated if you can try to help us with our trip

Hi there,

1.) Yes, you can use the Narita Express train directly from the airport to Shinjuku.

2.) You can use the Hikari Shinkansen from Tokyo station to Osaka directly.

3.) Yes, you can do as many daily trips Osaka - Kyoto as you'd want :)

4.) For the JR Pass and Fuji, see here: https://www.jrpass.com/blog/itinerary-tip-mt-fuji

5.) As for other visits, I can highly recommend Hiroshima, Nikko, Himeji, Hakone and Kamakura - just to name a few :) Travel to these is all included by the JR Pass.
