Japan trip in June - please help!

Hello,
Can you please let me know what the best pass would be for the following itinerary:

  • Arrive in Narita airport at 9:00 pm and we need to get to our hotel in Tokyo (located near the Tokyo City Air Terminal).
  • After 3 days we made a reservation in a ryokan in Hakone (Gora Station).
  • We stay for one night, then leave for Kyoto the next day. We are staying at the MIMARU Kyoto Horikawarokkaku (249, Tsuboyacho, Horikawadorirokkakusagaru, Nakagyo-ku Kyoto-shi, Kyoto, 604-8255).
  • We stay there for 4 days and then we need to get back to Narita Airport to return home.

So basically, Narita - Tokyo - Hakone - Kyoto - Narita

Can you please let me know what pass I should get? And will I be able to travel with all my luggage (about 4 big suitcases)?

Hi there,

I would recommend using a 7-day Japan Rail Pass for travel from Tokyo - Hakone - Kyoto - Tokyo. These are the routes that cost the most when you travel by Shinkansen and where the best savings are to be had. Then try to cover any local travel you may using the pass, to get the most out of your pass.
