26 Dec - 28 Tokyo
28- Tokyo to Kobe
28 - 4 Jan - day trips around Kobe and Osaka, potential trip to Tottori Sand Dunes
4 Jan Kobe to Kyoto
7 Jan Kyoto to Nagoya
9 Jan Nagoya to Takayama (we want to go to Shirakawago as a day trip while in Takayama)
11 Jan Takayama to Shizuoka
13 Jan Shizuoka to Kamakura to Tokyo
14 Jan Tokyo
16 Jan Day trip to Yokohama

Putting this into the calculator, it won't save us to get the JR pass, but what regional passes would work with this?

Hello there,

I checked your trip if it would match with any regional pass but it's hard to find a match, since you are traveling between different regions every couple of days. I think the one pass you could look at is the Kansai Wide Area Pass, this is depending on if you do the trip to Tottori. As it would give very good value going there + 5 days of travel around the Kansai Area.

After Kyoto, your best option would be buying normal tickets as you travel.

Kind regards,
Daniel
