We have purchased a jr pass and I seem to be ok with getting from Hiroshima to IKUNO(HYOGO) but going from IKUNO(HYOGO) to Tokyo it picks up the nozomi train....can we use that on the jr pass? Is there any other way?

Hello there,
You can't use the Nozomi train but can use the Sakura and Hikari trains on the same route.
I suspect you are using Google maps, which is not showing the Hikari trains, you may want to use www.hyperdia.com instead :)

Mmm I was using Hyperdia but when I unselected the Nozomi train, nothing else came up!

Had the same issue sometimes, think Hyperdia may be undergoing some maintenance or something. You can use Navitime instead:
