Hi,
My girlfriend and I are trying to work out any combination of the JR Pass, JR Regional Pass or Bus passes that may work in our favor as it currently does not look like it will
Dates/Places are below

Friday 14th June: Land Kansai Airport - Osaka
Monday 16th June: Osaka to Kobe return
Tuesday 17th June: Osaka to Himeji return
Wedensday 18th June: Osaka to Kyoto
Saturday 22nd June: Kyoto to Kanazawa (Ishikawa)
Sunday 23rd June: Kanazawa to Kamikochi
Wednesday 26th June: Kamikochi to Tokyo
Sunday 30th June: Tokyo to Kansai Airport

Hi Rich,

I think using a JR Kansai Area Pass or JR Kansai Area WIDE pass would make sense for your first days and travel to Kobe, Himeji and Kyoto.

Then for Kanazawa - Kamikochi - Tokyo, I would buy tickets as you travel. This route will likely involve a lot of bus travel, which would not be covered by the JR Pass.
