Hi,
We want to go from Osaka to the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine route and back to Osaka. We would appreciate your advice on the best way to do so and the JR pass that would save us some money.
Thank you.

Osaka to Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route
Hi therer,
You can access the route either via Tateyama and go from North to South, finishing near Shinano-Omachi. Or do it the other way around. The JR Pass covers travel to Toyama but you will need local transport from there over the Alpine route, you get back on the JR at Shinano-Omachi station.
A pass of interest could be:

Hope this helps,

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your advice. I have now found a way but would like your advice if it would work:
1. Use Kansai-Hokuriku Area pass to travel from Osaka to Toyama & stay overnight at Toyama.
2. Next day from Dentetsu Toyama travel the Kurobe Alpine Route to Shinano-Omachi.
3. From Shinano-Omachi travel back to Toyama.
4. Stay overnight at Toyama & return to Osaka.
The Kansai-Hokuriku Area Pass will be used for 1 & 4.
Thank you.
Regards.

Hi Davidpan,
I assume nr 1-4 are each a day? If so, then it would work!
Hope this helps,
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
Just some additional information. We thought of overnight at Shinano-omachi, after Kurobe Alpine Route, before travelling, next day, to Itoigawa and onward to Toyama, Kanazawa and ending Osaka. Thank you.
