Hi, I am traveling to Japan in June, and I want to go to Yakushima, in Kagoshima for 2 days. I will be traveling from Tokyo.
1. How long is the trip to Kagoshima from Tokyo?
2. Can I travel overnight to Kagoshima from Tokyo?
3. How can I get to Yakushima from Kagoshima?

Hi there,
1.) It takes about 426 Minutes.
2.) There is no Shinkansen service at night. You could look at a nightbus though.
3.) There are low-speed and high-speed ferries going from Kagoshima.

Beside the bus, there is no train over night that can take me to Kagochima (or a combination of them) with can apply to the Japan Rail Pass?
