Which JR pass should I buy

I will travelling to Hokkaido and Tokyo on 20th Dec - 5th Jan. Total 17 days in Japan.

I am going to Otaru, Sapporo, Noboribetsu, Tomamu, Hadokate and travel to Tokyo on 28 Dec. Is it advisable to get a 14 days pass and start on first day at New Chitose Airport to Otaru? Or a 6 days flexible JR east-south pass, but this cannot cover Tomamu, am I right?

For the last 3 days in Tokyo will have no pass, I need to buy ticket to Narita Airport from Shinjuku. Where to buy a japan rail pass?

Lastly, between Numazu and Yokohama, can I use the Japan Rail Pass?

Hi there,

You could either look at a 6 days flexible JR east-south pass (this pass does indeed only go up to Sapporo and not Tomamu), or possible a 7 day JR Pass if you can cover most of your travel with it in Hokkaido and return back to Tokyo.

If you wish to purchase a JR east-south pass, please send us an e-mail at [email protected] with your name, address and pass you wish to purchase.

We will take care of the rest from there.

Lastly, between Numazu and Yokohama, can I use the Japan Rail Pass? Yes

Hope you find this useful,
Daniel
