Hi,

I am Erica
I need help to compare which way is actually cheaper and more convenient, whether to buy JR pass or but ticket on the spot?
My itinerary would be :

  1. Haneda to tokyo city
  2. Tokyo to Kyoto
  3. Kyoto to Osaka
  4. Osaka to Shirakawa go
  5. Shirakawa go to Tokyo
  6. Tokyo city to Narita airport

I would be travelling in 7 days in Japan
Thank you very much

Hello there,

I would certainly recommend using a 7 day JR Pass here. The cost of a 7 day JR Pass is almost the same as a normal return Tokyo - Kyoto/Osaka using the Shinkansen. Any additional travel is what you save, for instance towards Shirakawa-go.

About Shirakawa-go, the JR Pass can be used to travel to either Kanazawa or Takayama, from where you can use the bus to Shirakawa-go. The bus is not included but the train travel costs the far by most.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Dear Daniel,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply
JR Pass can be used for JR East, west and narita express (basicly all JR ), right ?

If so, I would like to purchase 2 JR Pass
How much is it?
I am in Indonesia by the way

Thank you very much

Erica
