Hi, we're planning our trip with the JR RailPass. On Monday octobre 5th, we'd like to travel from Kyoto to Hakone, stopping at Odawara to buy there the Hakone FreePass and continue to Hakone-Yumoto.
Our question:
Is it possible to travel from Kyoto to Hakone using only JRpass allowed trains (with Hyperdia it only gives us results with Shinkansen Nozomi)??
Thanks.

Hello MariaJapan2015,
Yes you can use the Shinkansen Hikari Service from Kyoto - Odawara station. This train is covered by the JR Pass and you don't have to pay anything extra.
When using Hyperdia, be sure to remove the option NOZOMI / MIZUHO / HAYABUSA (SHINKANSEN), you will then find the Hikari routes.
Hope this helps!
Daniel
