We are planning a trip next February. I read somewhere that to qualify for a JR Pass you had to be staying between 15 and 90 days. We are only planning on a 11 day visit. Would we have to extend our trip to qualify for a JR Pass.

The 15 to 90 days refer to the length of your visa, not the length of your trip.
