2 Questions ,firstly how do I find schedule and timetable online also,whats the duration of this ride from Osaka to Hiroshima
lastly if after reserving a seat on a particular day and time,what are the penalties if for some reason I missed the train as I understand the train stations has many platforms,entrances and exits.
Please pardon my noob questions as first time to Japan and using JR pass.

For travel times, I recommend learning to plan with Hyperdia this way you can find any route/timetable and more. It's a great tool for planning with the JR Pass. We also have a useful interactive map with all JR lines included.
No, there are no penalty fares. You can always take the non-reserved seat on the next train if for some reason you miss the train you wanted to get on.
