Hello,

I am looking to purchase a 7 day pass for Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka-Toyko

I would be activating the pass early morning on the 1st of June and will be returning to Tokyo on the 7th in the evening.

I would like to know if the pass is restricted by the time of the first use (example 6:00am) and thus only valid till 6am on the 7th or is it by day?

Thank you for your time!

Hi there,

The JR Pass is counted in days, basically from midnight to midnight and the first day is counted as a full day, no matter what time you start using the JR Pass.

Starting the JR Pass on the 1st, would meant that it expires on the 7th at 23:59.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
