Hey Daniel-san!

I will be travelling to Japan this August and I am really excited about it!

I need some info regarding the use of JR pass. We are planning to visit Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Kamakura and maybe the Hakone area. Is a regular JR pass enough for these areas? Also, can I use the pass in the means of transport in Tokyo?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Niki

Hello Niki,

Yes, a regular JR Pass would get you to all these places. Additionally, you can use the JR Pass on the local JR Network around Tokyo. This is very extensive and most places can be reached by JR alone, that said some places in Tokyo like Asakusa do not have a JR Station and you may have to use additional transport.

Kind regards,
Daniel
