using jr east niigata/nagano pass for echigo-yuzawa and fuji

I come from Thailand and trying to figure out about JR east Niigata PASS to be used from echigo-yuzawa to Odawara. I just heard from someone that JR pass can be used for shinkansen from Echigo-Yuzawa to Tokyo but from Tokyo to Odawara I can't coz it use Tokaido shinkansen which is not valid for JR East Niigata/Nagano PASS. However, I can use JR Pass with JR tokaido line to Odawara or Superview Odoriko as another choice. Correct me if I am wrong,please. Thanks a lot for answering.

Hi Puechmongkol,

It is correct. The JR Pass can be used on any JR line, including the Tokaido Shinkansen.

Regional passes like the JR East Niigata/Nagano PASS are limited to a certain area.

Thank you so much for your reply. So I understand correctly that I need to use non-shinkansen train from tokyo to odawara if I use only JR ease Niigata/Nagano Pass. So I will try other trains instead. Appreciate your help very much.
