Trip to Japan JR PASS inquiry: OSAKA-KYOTO-TOKYO

Hi! I am planning to go on an 11 day trip to Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo, and I was wondering if the JR Pass will cover the most convenient tourist attractions? I am also planning to travel from Osaka to Kyoto and Tokyo using the JR pass. I will also be spending majority of my time in Tokyo, where I am planning to buy a 72 hour pass and then a 48 hour pass for the Tokyo Metro. Is there a pass that covers all the metro lines across all 3 cities?

Thanks!

Hi there,

A JR Pass would not be cost efficient if you only travel one way Kyoto - Osaka. Only if you travel a bit for, for instance a return on the same route.

As each city operates its own local transport, no pass is available for all of them.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
