You can use the Narita Express directly from Narita Airport to Yokohama.

I am however not completely sure where you wish to meet your friends, is this at the hotel? Or somewhere else in Yokohama.

The closest station is Koganecho Station on the Keikyu line. You can use the JR to Shin-Yokohama and use the Keikyu line from there.

Driving in Japan costs a lot and there are a lot of toll roads, outside of that you do not want to use a car within the bigger cities as its so busy. At the same time you are more mobile.

After studying the JRP to any of the destinations it seems that we have to transfer several times and walk I understand that some of the buses are not covered. It frightens me to figure out where we would get off and transfer and in what direction we would walk. It would cost us $920 for passes and about $600 to rent a car so we would have a lot of leeway for tolls and parking, Can we find parking in the big cities?

Could you post the places you want to visit? This would give me a better idea of ticket prices involved. I am sure that parking can be found but I don't know how hard/easy that would be.

Hi there,

This is good is know, most of the travel you'll do is within the Kanto Area. For this you could look at a Kanto Pass (or the Tokyo Wide Pass) this is lower cost than the JR Pass and would cover travel between the cities you want to visit and Fuji as well.

At the same time, renting a car would work too.

Yes but is can cost a lot!
