Hello! My friends and I are travelling during the Sakura Season this year. We will purchase a 7 day JR Pass. Plan to travel in Tokyo then Osaka. Spend a day in Kyoto then back to Tokyo. Is there a Shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo? Will it start operating at 4am? Will be catching a flight in Tokyo by 12 noon.

Hi there,
Shinkansen (and public transport in general) operated between 6 am and midnight. With a flight at 12 am, my advise would be to travel back to Tokyo the evening before. A JR Pass will work very well for your itinerary.
