Good day!
I will be travelling to Japan with my family of 4 for the first time. Here is our planned itinerary.
Apr 13 - Tokyo (Narita)/Kameido
14 - Disneyland
15 - bullet train to Osaka/Sakaisuji
16 - Universal Studios
17 - back to Tokyo/Nippori
18 - Mt Fuji
19 - Minato
20 - depart for home
Could you kindly advise. Thank you.
Tokyo-Osaka-Tokyo

Hi there,
Looks like a great itinerary and you will be able to make good use of a 7 day JR Pass with it.
What exactly would you like advise on?

Thanks for the prompt reply.
Is it really economical for us to buy a 7 day JR pass? Not the regional ones? Our airport for departure is Narita and I know it's a mistake! 😞 Would you recommend we should concentrate in only one city and explore? I can sense we'll be wasting our time travelling for long hours and from one city to another. I can still amend our itinerary. Your advise please..
The 7 day JR Pass is the best option if you make a return Tokyo - Osaka with it. The 7 day JR Pass is a bout the same price as a normal ticket, so any additional travel you cover with it, basically is what you save.
Also traveling in Japan is part of the experience, don't be afraid to sit in the train a couple of hours here and there. There's something nice about seeing Mt. Fuji zoom by at 300km/h when riding the Shinkansen.

Thanks Daniel for the reply.
This may be my last point to clear from you since I'm quite satisfied with all your answers to my queries. Based on my research, there are different avenues to order the JR pass online. Which is which? Are there all the same whichever I decide to order? One website charges shipping fees, others don't. What is the best site? Prompt delivery, no hidden fees etc.
Again, thank you very much for all the help and more power.
Hi again!
While I can't speak for other websites or agents, here at JRPass.com we base the rate we charge on the current Yen exchange rate without extra costs. Shipping is fast and free to many countries. Also delivery is fast with fedex and shipping costs are only charged once per order.
You can place an order online here if you like.
Do note that the JR Pass has to be activated within 90 days after purchase, so please wait a bit longer if you are traveling in April.
All the best!
Daniel

Hi again daniel!
More questions from me...sorry!
As you can see our itinerary, the 7 day JR pass won't be sufficient for us. We are short of a day. Should we use it on the first day from the airport going to Tokyo/Kameido? Or should we buy a normal train ticket from the airport riding the narita express on the first day or should we do it on the last day? So, we'll know when to activate the pass. Your suggestion please.
Thank you very much for all the help..
Hi there,
The difference is not too big though between using the JR Pass on the first day or last day. Maybe the first day is better if you want to explore Tokyo that day as well, otherwise I would use the JR Pass on the last day.
Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi again daniel!
Can i buy a narita express ticket for one way only? I will maximize our JR pass, of course! Either way, i will use the JR pass for narita express for one way.
Thank you again!
Hi again!
First, sorry for the late replay. I thought that I had already posted an answer.
As for the Narita Express ticket, I'm afraid that there's only a discount return ticket. You can however look at once of these Keisei deals (http://www.keisei.co.jp/keisei/tetudou/skyliner/us/value_ticket/subway.html).
Hope this helps,
Daniel
