Hello!

I'll be traveling to Japan from Argentina with my family (2 Adults + 2 children 9 & 8 years old) arriving on Aug 5th to Narita.
Plan is to stay in Tokyo from the 5th to the 9th and then travel to Kyoto on the 9th. Stay in Kyoto from Aug 9 to Aug 14 and return to Tokyo. Stay in Tokyo from Aug 14 to Aug 18 and return from Narita to Argentina same Aug 18.

What is your recommendation in terms of JR Passes? Should I book the 7 day one or the 14 day to be able to use the JR as we arrive to Japan and/until our departure on the 18th including being able to take the bullet train to Kyoto and return?

Hi Gonzalo,

I think using a 7 day Japan Rail Pass is the best option here. It would give you the best possible savings when used to make the return Tokyo - Kyoto and at least one way to or from Narita AIrport.
