Hi! I'll be travelling Japan for about 2 weeks, starting in Tokyo for 5 days (Including a day trip to Hakone) then going to Kyoto for 4 days and Osaka for 7 days. I will be doing a few day trips out from Osaka to Nara and Kobe as well.
Would it be advisable to get the JR pass in this case, mainly for the Tokyo to Kyoto journey, or is there a more affordable mode of transport from Tokyo to Kyoto?
Also, is there a train card (or something else) that can be used in all 3 areas? Thank you:)

Hi there,
As I understand your itinerary now, I would just buy normal tickets. The only expensive trip is Tokyo - Kyoto and just for that it would not pay off to get a pass.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
