Does a JR pass start at the time of activation (e.g. 14:25 in the afternoon) until day 7 or 15 later at the same time?
Or does it start at 00:01 in the morning of the day that the pass was activated even if that activation was only in the evening?

Hi,
The JR Pass is counted in full days (not hours), and the first day is counted as a full day, no matter what time you first take the train.
For example starting the JR Pass on a Monday, means the last day of travel is the following Sunday.
