Are there any restrictions using the JR Pass to travel from Shinigawa to Kyoto on the Shinkensen? Will it work on both Kodama and Hikari trains? Are the seats unreserved, and if so, is there a way to get reserved or green car seats?

Hi there,
You can take any non-reserved seat on the Hikari and Kodama Shinkansen. You can also take a reserved seat by making a free reservation at any JR station.
Green Seats require a big extra fare unless you have a Green JR Pass.
