Arrive Haneda planning to travel Tokyo to Kyoto to Kanazawa to Naoshima Island return to Tokyo possible in seven days? ... is the JR pass suitable for this journey?...also interested in Takayama and Kamakura...have a total of 12 days in japan...thinking a 7 day pass and spending the other five days in the city...to JR or Not??

Hi there,

Yes, I think this is viable if you have some time to spend in Tokyo outside of the 7 day JRPass window. You could do Kyoto 3 days, 1 day Naoshima, 2 days Kanazawa and 1 day to return to Tokyo, maybe even swing by Takayama on the day that you travel back to Tokyo. It will all require a bit of planning but that's part of the fun!

Kamakura is close to Tokyo and you could easily make a day trip there from Tokyo without a JR Pass.
