Hi there,
Since you are traveling one way, I think it would make most sense to buy normal tickets for this route. A Japan Rail Pass would be useful if you traveled back to Osaka as well.
You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary.
