Going from Okayama to Kobe - staying at the Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel. What train station should we get off to be close to the hotel. We would like to leave Okayama no later then 8:30 in the morning Nov 10. We will have a JR Pass and will be able to reserve seats

Hi there,
The closest metro station is Minatomotomachi Station, there is no JR station within walk-able distance from your hotel. So my recommendation would be to use Shinkansen to Shin-Kobe station and use the Kobe Metro from there.
