Daniel, I want to leave Kyoto on a Friday, if possible on a bullet train using the JR Pass, to connect to a 5PM flight back to the States from Narita. What would be a good time to catch a bullet train from Kyoto to play it very safe and which train? Many thanks. Lewis

Hi there,
Yes, that should be enough time. You will want to arrive at Narita Airport at 2-3pm. The full route takes 4-5 hours, I recommend getting on the train around 9-9.30 o'clock in the morning.
