I'm very nervous about my first trip to Japan because my mother travelling with me and this is during your busiest tourist season. On 5th April, we plan to go from Tokyo to Kyoto on Shinkansen. We want to get off and see shops at the station. Then catch a train to Saga Arashiyama Station, and do the Sagano Romantic Rail Tour. From Kameoka Station we will take a train/ bus back to Saga Arashiyama Station and walk through the Sagano Bamboo Grove and shops to reach Kyoto Station by evening.
My questions are:
1. How much in advance can we get a JR Pass for our trip?
2. What is the daily schedule for trains between JR Shinjuku & JR Kyoto Stations? Is there any web-link for this?
3. We want to buy tickets in advance as soon as possible for the Sagano Romantic Rail Ride. Is there a web-link where we can buy them?
My greatest worry is that we MUST know WHEN we are going to REACH Kyoto. Otherwise, we will miss the Romantic Rail if we book in advance!! And I really don't want to miss it!
Please help with answers.
