JR Tokyo Wide Pass - 3 Calendar Days / 3x24 Hours?

Hi guys,

I will be flying into Narita on the 16th of March (arriving around 1pm). Am planning on buying the JR Tokyo Wide Pass to take the Narita Express to Tokyo Station and then changing to the Joetsu Shinkansen to Gala Yuzawa station.

Will be leaving Gala Yuzawa on the 18th evening, spending 18th night in Tokyo and then taking the Narita Express back to the airport on 19th morning 10am.

Can someone please help to confirm/answer these questions?

  1. The wide pass covers both the narita express and joetsu shinkansen trips?
  2. Will the pass be valid from 16th 1pm - 19th 1pm? or 16th 1pm to 18th 11.59pm?
  3. If its only valid till the end of 18th, would there be a better option to purchase instead? What would you guys recommend I buy?

Hi,
The pass is good for 3 consecutive days, midnight to midnight. If you get and use the pass at 6PM, your first "day" is just 6 hours long.
Yes, you can use it on the N'Ex and Joetsu Shinkansen to Gala Yuzawa station during ski season. See here.
For the 19th, you could go back to Narita on the 1000 yen bus.
