I'm planning to go to Tokyo for 7 days then to Osaka (by bullet train) for another 7 days, i will need to travel by bus/train/tram everyday for the things i want to do/see in both cities, does the JR rail pass cover all of these travel options or only the bullet train?
Just trying to figure out what is the best way to go about buying travel tickets and which ones we will need.
Thanks.

Hi Keeleyx,

The JR Pass covers both the Bullet trains, and the local JR networks in cities like Tokyo and Osaka. Transport like the tram or local bus is not included.

We have a JR Fare Calculator to help you find out if a JR Pass can help you make savings. Generally speaking, the 7-day Japan Rail Pass will be a good deal if you at least make a return Tokyo - Osaka within the 7-day validity period.

I hope this helps!
Daniel
