Hello,

I purchased the 21 day JR Rail Pass and searched Hyperdia to see how I would get from Shinjuku station to the Jigokudani Monkey Park. When the results came back it said I would need to take SHINKANSEN YAMABIKO 52 as well as SHINKANSEN HAKUTAKA 573. I was a little shocked when the fair for this trip according to Hyperdia was over $100 additional cost. Is that correct or will the JR pass cover my trip here? Or is there a different shinkansen I should take in order to be covered with the JR pass?

Hi there,

This is indeed the fare you'd pay for this Shinkansen. The good news is that the JR Pass fully covers both the Yamabiko and Hakutaka Shinkansen, so no extra fees are needed.
