Japan Rail Pass vs. Others

Hi, I've been doing research on the best way for my family (10 young adults & 1 child) to travel in Japan. We will be arriving at NRT Int'l Airport (arriving Nov 4) and staying in Tokyo (leaving Nov 7) and using the bullet train going to Osaka and leaving on Nov 12 thru KIX.. In Tokyo, we'll be staying in Akihabara and going around to various places including DisneySea.. In Osaka, we'll be in the Dotonbori area and also going to Nara, USJ, Tempozan, and maybe spending 1 day in Kyoto..

Is the JR 7 day pass the best deal possible? And then we just pay regular fares for the last 2 days.. Should we look into the IC cards such as Welcome Suica or the Tokyo 1-Day tickets.. I believe I also saw that Osaka has a 2 day city pass as well.. How to decide!

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!

LOL. And if anyone out there can help with routing all the train/subways, let me know!
