Looking at the rail line applicable for my Fukuoka-Nagasaki-Fukuoka-Kobe-Nikko-Narita. Is it worth to use the JR Rail Pass time wise? I got the estimate travel time off google map. So I know there are some Shinkansen line not applicable in the JR rail pass. I got confuse on whether what line to ride to my destination. Thank you for your time.

Hi there,

Yes, this is quite a long route and a JR Pass would help you make good savings. Travel between all these cities is included in the JR Pass and you can use the Sakura and Hirkari Shinkansen to access them.

For travel times, I recommend learning to plan with Hyperdia this way you can find any route/timetable and more. It's a great tool for planning with the JR Pass. We also have a useful interactive map with all JR lines included.
