First travel to Japan

Hi,
We will travel first time to japan with 4 people (3adults + 1 child of 17y). I summarize our itinirary below and would like to know which train pass to buy (2 weeks jr rail pass?). Any help is welcome. Many thanks!
1 july: arrive tokyo, travel from airport to tokyo
5 nights tokyo
Travel tokyo to nikko
1 night nikko
Travel nikko to hakone
2 nights hakone
Travel hakone to kyoto
5 nights kyoto ( during these 5 days we will make 1 day return trip to nara)
Travel from kyoto to koya san
1 night koya san
Travel from koya san to osaka
5 nights osaka ( during these 5 days we will make 1 day return trip to hyroshima)

Hi there,

A Japan Rail Pass is best used for the routes that cost the most. In your itinerary, this would be travel from Hakone to Kyoto and a day trip to Hiroshima. The most economic option would be to use a Japan Rail Pass to travel from Hakone (Odawara station) to Kyoto and make the day trip to Hiroshima. These trips alone would pay for more than the 7 day JR Pass and any additional travel you'd do with it would only add more. You could easily swap the day trip to Nara with Hiroshima and then visit Nara later on from Osaka.

Thank you very much.
So we could do 7 days pass :
Day 1:tokyo to nikko
Day 2: nikko to hakone
Day 4:hakone to kyoto
Day 7:return trip from kyoto to Hiroshima

What about the other travel?
Kyoto to koya aan
Koya san to osaka
Osaka to nara and back to osaka
From hotel in osaka to osaka airport
Would it be less expensive to buy day passes for these travel rather then to buy 14 days jr pass from the start?
