Hello,

It is the first time that we are going to visit Japan and I want to make sure I am doing everything correctly. Will a 7 day JR pass cover all of these areas that we are visiting? As we are spending half of it mostly in Tokyo. Here is our itinerary:

Flight: 19th July (night flight) from Ho Chi Minh City

20th July - 26th July - Tokyo

26th July - 29h July - Osaka

29th July - 31st July - Hiroshima

31st July - 1st August - Kyoto

1st August - 3rd August - Tokyo

Do we need to buy anything else other than the JR pass?

Thank you so much,

Selena

Hi Selena,

Yes, the JR Pass will get you to all these places in good time and you can use the bullet train lines to all these cities.

In addition to the JR Pass, I'd recommend getting a Suica card upon arrival. This is an electronic way of payment and can be used to pay for any kind of transport that may not be covered by the JR Pass, mostly locally. If you want to use the internet, then a Pocket WiFi in Japan may be useful as well.

Kind regards,
Daniel
