We arrive in Tokyo next Tuesday. Am I right in understanding that I can exchange my voucher at Narita airport on the day I arrive, but stipulate the pass to start on the Friday i.e. 3 days later? (if so, am I also able to book a seat for the train on Friday when I exchange my voucher?).
Lastly, just to clarify do we have to book seats on trains in advance, or can we just turn up in time for the train and get on?

You can also start reserving seats from this moment but it is also possible to just hop on any train you like.
