Hi. I am sure this is answered elsewhere on the forum but I am starting to confuse myself so I thought it best to ask!

Our itinerary is:

Tokyo - 3 nights
Osaka - 3 nights
Day trip to Kyoto whilst in Osaka
Tokyo - 3 nights
Day trip to Hakone whilst in Tokyo

I was going to order the 7 day pass and activate before we go to Osaka.

Can someone confirm this pass will let me go to all the places above?

Also, has anyone purchased a day trip package to Hakone and done the cable car, hot springs etc? Worth the money or better to go it alone?

We are leaving on the 29th Sept so I need to book the JR pass asap if this is our best option.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

The JR Pass will cover travel to all the cities you plan to visit to.

Personally, I think the best experience for Hakone is to wander around yourself. There are many things to see and do and this way you can set your own pace. A Hakone Free Pass can be of great value if you plan to do the full circle.

Kind regards,
Daniel
