We will be traveling to Japan this Oct, and are wondering
1. if JR pass can be used for getting romancecar standard ticket?
2.if JR pass covers shinkansen Hikari line and kodama line, JR yamanote in tokyo, trains or buses in Kyoto?

Hi there,
The Romance Car, is a train operated by Odakyu and not included in the JR Pass. You can use the Tokaido Shinkansen instead to travel to Hakone/Odawara.
2.) All these JR Lines are included, as well as the JR Bus in Kyoto. However note that most buses within Kyoto are run by a diffent company and not included. JR buses have a JR sign.
