Can I reserve online from Tokyo to Kyoto, then Kyoto to Nagoya, and Nagoya back to Tokyo?

Hi, I will buy a 7 day national pass to be used in Aug 20-23.
I wonder if we can reserve seats online with our pass from Tokyo to Kyoto, then Kyoto to Nagoya, and Nagoya back to Tokyo?

Also, is this period very busy? We can only be physically present in Japan on Aug 18 to book if online reservation is not available.....Will we risk running out of tickets for our group of 10 people?
