Hi, my question concerns the Shinkansen and the JR Pass.
I know the Pass works with some of them but I wanted to know how far in advance should I reserve my seats (if at all?).
I was told 1-4 days in advance depending on season but I wasn't sure if this applies to the Shinkansen.
Furthermore, how far in advance should I buy the Pass (or your WiFi hub) itself?

Yes, this also applies to the Shinkansen.
I would recommend getting your JR Pass 1 month in advance.
