Hi, I am going to be based in Kyoto and need to go to Tokyo for a day, and would like to get to Tokyo by 1100, what trains would be best to use with the JR rail pass? Thank you.

Hi David,

The fastest option is the use the Hikari Shinkansen, they depart about twice per hour from Kyoto to Tokyo and take about 160minutes and is fully covered by the JR Pass.

I hope you find this useful,
Daniel
