Hi, my daughter and I will be arriving at Sapporo on 6 August 2018 for 8 days. My itinerary asf:-

Day 1 - Check-in hotel & explore Sapporo
2 - Day trip to Otaru 3 - More of Sapporo & surrounding area (not fixed yet) 4 - Overnight at Asahikawa - Furano/Biei 5 - Proceed to Hokuryu, then to Lake Toya. 6 - Overnight at Lake Toya, take a round trip to Hakodate 7 - Explore Lake Toya and surrounding area and back to Sapporo 8 - Sapporo to New Chitose airport for flight home

I would like to know whether is more cost effective for us to use JR pass.

Thank you in advance for your advise.

Hi there,

Since you will only be travelling in Hokkaido, I'd look at using a JR Hokkaido Pass it costs less than the JR Pass and covers all of Hokkaido. Using it to travel to Hakodate and back will provide excellent value.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Daniel-san,

After checking out the Hokkaido JR Pass, I still can't decide how many days pass should I use.
Based on my itinerary above, how many days pass is more suitable?

Regards
Pingsim
