Hello, our iteneray for an upcoming trip end Apr / early May :

Arriving at Oaska Int'l Airport - Shirahama (2 nights) - Wakayama (1 night) - Tottori (2 nights) - Osaka (2 nights) - Tokyo (2 ninghts, then leaaving from Narita Airport).. Total 10 days, 9 nights for two persons.

Results from our research, it seems that we should purchase one Kansai Wild Pass JPY10,000 (for the frist 5 days) and a 7-day Hokuriku Arch Pass JPY25,500 (mainly for Shinkansen from Osaka to Tokyo and then from Tokyo Narita Airport, plus local trains in tokyo areas). Are these two passes the most cost-effective option for us?

Appreciate your expert advice. Thank you.

Hi Lee,

Are you aware that the Hokuriku Arch Pass does NOT include the direct Shinkansen between Kyoto and Tokyo? If you'd want to use this pass, then you'd have to follow the Hokuriku Arch, through Kanazawa and Nagano.

Instead, I'd just buy a one way ticket to Tokyo, and a JR West Kansai area WIDE Pass.

Kind regards,
Daniel
