Hello,
I was wondering if I'd be worth purchasing the jrpass for the entirety of my 36 day Japan trip, stick with tickets or do a mixed selection after researching further.

Side note: are there any good transport/itinerary apps/websites to help plan all of this?

My trip:
Osaka-Kyoto-Nagoya-Tokyo-Sapporo
Lots of classic stops like shines and things I've seen offered on the Jr pass but between city's in my biggest worry. Places can be swapped around for convienance, still planning!

Thank you!

Hi there,

It will all depend on how much and where you travel. I'd have to see your day by day itinerary and routes to know for sure.

That said, all the routes (Osaka-Kyoto-Nagoya-Tokyo-Sapporo) are high cost Shinkansen ticket routes. Adding additional local travel can add up a ton in savings as well. As general advice, try to cover these with a pass and then build around that.

You can use our JR Fare calculator to get an idea of costs involved.

Kind regards,
Daniel
