Hi everyone,
My partner and I are doing a 2 week ski trip in Japan in Feb and are wondering if the 2-week JR Pass would be worth it.
We'll be landing and departing from Narita. We will take the shikansen train to Niseko for 5 days of skiing (+local travel in the area), and then train down to Nagano and renting a car to travel to/around Hakuba for the next 5 days. We will wrap up with a train journey from Hakuba to Tokyo, and 2 days in Tokyo (some local travel expected plus airport transit).
I'm uncertain about which pass to use as not all trains are covered by the pass (i.e. from Hakodate to Niseko).
We would rather train than fly due to the emissions. Is the 2-week JR Pass worth it? Alternatively, we can do the 7-day pass which would cover the shinkansen trains (Narita - Hakodate; Hakodate - Nagano) and ideally local travel by Niseko as well.
Any insight would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
