Travel itinerary:

May 30 arriving in Tokyo
Will stay in Tokyo and travel around the area til May 5 and then same day travelling to Osaka.

Will stay in Osaka from May 5 til May 12 but will also including exploring Kyoto and neighbouring area.

Same day on May 12 will be travelling back to Tokyo.

I am aware that my first few days in Tokyo and my last three days in Tokyo will be normal trains as it maybe much more cheaper to do it like that?

But travelling from Tokyo to Osaka and other Kansai area will be around 8 days.

I am a bit lost on what plan i will get to be cost effective.

Hi there,

A 7-day JR Pass would be a good option, if you'd done the trip to Osaka/Kyoto within a 7 day period. As you already know, it is 8 right now. Consider returning to Tokyo one day earlier, or just buy normal tickets for the trip as planned.

Kind regards,
Daniel
