Hello, we are visiting Japan from the 27/12 to 11/1. We are visiting Tokyo, Hakone, Osaka, Kyoto and Nozawa Onsen. We are a family of 5, with children aged 12, 9 and 7. Is the JR pass the best value for us? We intend using trains as our means of most transport.

It would depends on how many days you plan to stay in each place.
Could you give me a bit more of a schedule? E.g. 3 days in Tokyo, 1 Day in Hakone and so on.
