Kyoto to Hiroshima and Hiroshima to Odawara (for Hakone/Fuji)

Hi
My wife and I will be staying in Kyoto from 12th October. We want to travel from Kyoto station to Okayama and (later) onto Hiroshima. I'm looking at the Kansei to Hiroshima regional pass but want to use the Tokaido Shinkansen from Kyoto to Okayama (on 16th October). Is that train covered by the pass or do I buy an additional ticket locally?

Also, later when we travel Hiroshima to Odawara, can we use the pass as far as Osaka and stay on the same train to Shin Yokoshama (for change to Odawara) if we pay for an additional ticket?

Hi Jon,

The Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass covers the Sanyo Shinkansen between Shin-Osaka, Okayama, and Hiroshima. To travel from Kyoto to Shin-Osaka, you can use JR local or express trains, which are also fully covered by the pass.

For travel from Hiroshima to Odawara, your pass covers the section up to Shin-Osaka. You will simply need to purchase a ticket for the uncovered section (Shin-Osaka to Odawara) at a JR ticket office. Please speak to a staff member at a manned ticket counter to arrange this adjustment.
