Hi Daniel san,

If I hold a Kansai area pass (NOT the Kansai WIDE area pass), and want to go from Kyoto station to Amanohashidate by San-in line, the Kansai area pass only covers from Kyoto station to Hiyoshi Station, so what should I do to get to Fukuchiyama station? Where would I be able to pay the fare from Hiyoshi to Fukuchiyama?

Thank you!

Mina

Hi Mina,

I'm happy to help with your questions!

The simplest way is to go to a JR ticket office (Midori-no-Madoguchi) at Kyoto Station before you board.

You can show them your Kansai Area Pass and pay for the "uncovered" portion of your journey (from Hiyoshi to Fukuchiyama) right there. They will give you a separate ticket for that section so you don't have to worry about it during the trip.

I hope this helps!

Kind Regards,

Mariko
