My friend and I are flying into Tokyo, Haneda airport, April 14th. We'll do a quick tour of Tokyo the 14th-15th and head to Ishinomaki to visit friends the evening of April 15th. We want to head to Kyoto April 22 through the 23rd and we fly out of Haneda airport April 24th.
Would 2 regional passes work or the JR Pass or would individual tickets be best since we're not traveling too much?

Hi there,
I do recommend using a 7-day JR Pass for Tokyo - Kyoto and back. There's no regional pass that covers this part and the pass would be cost effecient.
Then for Ishinomaki, this is quite pricey for a one day return trip but I'd look at using a JR East Tohoku Pass, though you could also use a 14-day JR Pass.
